Reason: Since this would be our very first cosplay together we decided we needed to draw from something we both loved. Secret of Mana, a game for the Super Nintendo, was just that thing. We used to play this all the time when we were younger and for me it still remains one of the greatest games of all times. Although many people at the convention didn't get what we were (or assumed we were from Chrono Trigger) we had a great time with these costumes.
Construction: For Purim's costume it was rather simple, we just needed to convert a genie pattern to be a one piece instead of two. I'll never understand why all adult costumes have to be "sexy" and show enormous patches of skin everywhere, but whatever. My Memee had the great idea of putting the darker pink-ish ribbon on the pants to give the illusion that they're fuller than they really are. The rest of the outfit was just accessories, I found the bangles at a vintage shop, the elf shoes we ordered online, the hair piece Moreck found at a store, the ears at a costume shop, and the whip + earrings I already owned. The wig gave Moreck a bit of trouble, it refused to go into a ponytail and when it eventually did you could see almost all of my hair through it, so we had to rush out and buy a bright yellow wig cap. As far as Randi's outfit goes, it was just a lot of sewing work that had to be done. The arm bracers were a bit tricky and we made the mistake of using hot glue to try and keep the threaded rope-ish part on. His wig, aside from massive amounts of hairspray, wasn't as difficult to get into place.
